Speakers' Corner
Fifteen minutes on something worth knowing, from HCS faculty to HCS students.
Speakers’ Corner is a new series from the Department of Historical and Cultural Studies. Each episode is a fifteen-minute talk by a faculty member on anything they think students would find worth knowing. It need not be their research. A legendary sports rivalry, a sitcom, a forgotten piece of Scarborough history, a word with an odd past: the only rule is that the speaker finds it interesting and thinks you might too.
The format takes its cue from Shawkat Toorawa’s Dr. T project, whose motto is “dare to be curious”.
Speakers’ Corner is organised within HCS. Dates for the first season will appear here as they are confirmed.
